So as it turns out, here on Venice Island, this past weekend was Sun Fiesta. In the newspaper they described it as the last big celebration before tourist season begins. It was a three day revelry. We walked through the Midway on Friday night, food and drink of every imagining, cars, boats, things to admire, things to buy and artists and craftsmen hawking their wares. There was also live music. The band, Maiden Cane took the stage and rocked out Aerosmith and Pink Floyd!! Saturday began with bed races followed by a parade. Now, much like my Dad, I love a parade. For me, it was the absolute highlight. There was music, and clown and jugglers and old cars and Shriners driving those little dinky cars and beauty queens and floats galore. Everything you could imagine and a little bit more. Sometimes too much really is just enough. I'm sure there was a lot more involved with the festivities but we opted out. Fun happens and then it's time to get real life accomplished again. Hope your weekend was awesome too!
